ARTS IN THE COMMUNITY
The Clon Arts-Trail ‘Celebrating Creativity in the Community’ There are more than 80 shops; cafes; pubs and hotels around the town showcasing artworks during the Clonakilty Organic Arts Festival 18-21st June. Professional artists together with Community groups such as the Pike Painters; Clonakilty IWA; Cope Foundation; Co-Action; St Davids; Care Choice; Community hospital Arts in Health; WCTC; Courtmacsherry Painting Group; Clonakilty Flower Club; Tidy Towns and others are participating in this Clon Arts Trail which celebrates the wonderful wide range of creativity in our community. On behalf of all the artists we would like to thank the Clonakilty business and towns people for their wonderful support and welcoming response to the local artists whose work they have been so willing to represent in windows and shops. Each venue will have bios and details on the artist they are representing.

Cope Foundation Clonakilty Creative Arts Exhibition which is titled "The nature of things" includes photography, applique collage, paintings, film and crafts. Each piece of artwork was made by artists from the Cope Foundation Centre, Clonakilty.

Martha Cashman is an artist in Cork and the former Chair of Cork Potters. Martha will facilitate the Installation of Ceramic Swift Bird Boxes, made by a group of special needs adults she works with, the project highlights the plight of the Endangered Swift. Martha will also facilitate a “Wildflower Seed Bomb” family Creative Arts workshop in the Clonakilty Community Arts Centre providing educational fun for all the family!

Clonakilty Farmers Market: An amazing range of organically grown local produce, hot food and baking; crafts; face-painting; balloon modelling; busking and much more.

Bernadett Sarosi is a Clonakilty digital and comic book artist. Bernadett will host 'The Marvelous world of Comic Books' from the past and present. Comics from different countries, various shapes and sizes, 75 years of covers, figures and collectibles.

West Cork Sand Circles. Matthew Hart, and The West Cork Sand Circles Group have been creating a stir in west cork since 2012 when himself and other sand artists created ‘sand designs’ on Inchydoney beach, which have since featured in the national papers. A visual and unique experience.
Sunday/INCHYDONEY BEACH/1pm
The West Cork Travellers Centre will create an Arts Display to celebrate Travellers Pride Week. West Cork Travellers is a Traveller-led, not for profit, community development project that is working to achieve economic, cultural, health, social and political equality for the Traveller community.

Clonakilty Community Arts Centre (CCAC) was set up in 2012 by a group of local volunteers. CCAC is open to everyone in the community and provides a wide range of classes and workshops for both adults and children. A variety of community led creative events and exhibitions take place each year, most of which are free.
